The time has come for Tęcza

Tomorrow and the day after tomorrow matches of the 19th round of Ford Germaz Ekstraklasa will be held. Our CCC is going to play, in the hall of Gimnazjum in Sieraków-Rawicz against Tęcza Leszno. In that match, in the orange colours Agnieszka Bibrzycka is to have her debut.

‘Biba’ has been training with the team for several days and it is in the match against Tęcza that she is going to appear for the first time in the games of the 2011/2012 season in the orange colours. The match is going to be held in the sports hall of the medium school in Sieraków-Rawicz, because in the Trapez hall, where Tęcza plays every day, there is a fair tomorrow. 
Tomorrow’s opponent of our team certainly is not a favourite of the match. The Polkowice players have a stronger line-up, and their achievements so far in the Ford Germaz Ekstraklasa games are much more impressive. The team of coach Dariusz Raczyński has won only five out of the 18 played so far games, and it is holding the 11th place in the table. For comparison, our CCC has won 14 times and they have lost three matches. What is more, the Leszno players, like our team, played a match on Wednesday, so they are not going to have the advantage of a longer rest between matches. Since they are not going to play in their own hall, they cannot count on the home court advantage either. On Wednesday, as part of the 4th round of the Cup of Poland the charges of coach Raczyński played in their own court against Energa Toruń. The match ended with their loss by 61:81. In that game the most efficient player in the team from Leszno was Ewelina Gala, who threw 22 points. A bit worse was the leading  markswoman of the Tęcza team Marke Freeman, who scored only four points. That is much below her average from Ford Germas Ekstraklasa matches so far, which is 10.6 points. The American player, with her average of 2.5 assists per game is also the best passing player of her team.
There is a player, among our tomorrow’s opponents, that has played in the colours of our club. It is Katarzyna Bednarczyk, who spent in Polkowice two seasons – 2008/2009 and 2009/2010.
